The Inkerman Group is looking for a Head of Crisis Management to join its team. Reporting to the  Director of Group Operations, this role will lead the development and implementation of the overall strategy for the business unit. Crisis Management is one of the primary business units within The Inkerman Group, and aims to support its clients in preventing crises, safeguarding people, assets and reputation; this position will provide a great opportunity to develop and grow the Company’s crisis management consultancy business and will cover all aspects of crisis and security strategy consulting and management on a global basis.

The successful candidate will develop and implement the overall commercial and operational crisis management strategy, be responsible for the delivery of consulting projects, response management and the successful achievement of the business unit’s revenue and targets as well as the overall development in this business area.

Applicants should have experience of dealing with highly stressful or crisis situations and have a strong interest in how organisations respond to serious crises, such as a range of operational, regulatory and reputational risks, from money laundering and bribery to security, political instability and cybercrime, terrorist attacks, kidnap and ransom, reputational damage or pandemic. The role would involve travel, including potentially to ‘high risk’ locations to help clients to improve their ability to respond to crisis and incidents and to reduce their risks; helping them to become more resilient to changes in the global security environment.

Successful applicants will already have at least 10 years combined experience in senior positions in one or more of the following areas:

  • Professional consultancy
  • Corporate Risk Management
  • Security Management
  • Working with senior corporate management teams / senior business executives
  • Operational Resilience
  • Crisis Communications
  • Armed or Police Forces.

In addition, they will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a corporate crisis or security management role, either providing consultancy services to external clients, or within corporate security management.

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent with experience in working for an international organisation, the successful candidate will also have experience in strategy development and implementation, sales and client relationship management. In addition, excellent communication skills, confidence and effective at advising and briefing at all levels, including senior executive client stakeholders, together with significant experience of providing results in demanding environments are all important prerequisites for this role. As is the ability to consistently deliver high-quality services within tight deadlines whilst overcoming critical obstacles, a willingness to respond to and support crises worldwide, be a problem solver with the ability to identify critical operational priorities whilst maintaining quality of service and adept at identifying reputational risk and managing threats.

This role will be based in our office in Ashford Kent, but will involve international travel from time to time as required.
