GERALD MOOR, CEO
Gerald's career includes 20 commissioned years in the British Army where he was involved in the International intelligence arena including counter terrorism. He made the definitive documentary on The Battle of Jutland and was awarded The Duke of Edinburgh's Jubilee Trust Award in 1991 for his efforts. He founded and ran a manufacturing business in the SCUBA arena having invented the world's only back mounted propulsion unit with a variable speed control, before founding The Inkerman Group in 1996. He has been the Chairman of a hospital as well as being selected to be a Governor of a state run community college. He is currently a Liveryman and Master Elect of the Worshipful Company of the Security Professionals, a Freeman of the City of London, a member of the Special Forces Club and the Carlton Club.
KAREN ENGLISHBY, MCIPD, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Karen is a qualified Marketing and Human Resources professional with many years’ commercial experience across a wide range of industry sectors - both private and public. Working at senior management and board levels, as well as on an international basis, in sectors as diverse as technology, automotive, sport and leisure, financial and security; her past employment includes MCL Group, Sony Europe and Racecourse Holdings Trust, as well as within the public sector. Karen has worked with The Inkerman Group since 2005 and heads up the Company's Marketing, Human Resources and Communications teams.
SIMON IMBERT, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Simon has wide ranging experience throughout the security industry, particularly specialising in areas of risk and security advice and police development work throughout his career. His previous experience includes most recently that of Chief Executive of Capital Eye and Policing Support Services both part of The Inkerman Group since May 2008. In addition he was former Chairman of The Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (now part of the industry trade body ADS) and Deputy Chair of their Security Export Focus Group. He sits on the UK Department for Trade and Investment’s Global Sports Projects Sector Advisory Group, is a Freeman of the City of London and was the 8th Master of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals (the City’s 108th, and most recent, Livery Company).
MICHAEL ALLEN, MBE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Michael’s career includes 23 years in the British Army achieving senior rank within the Corps of Royal Engineers where he had both an exemplary career and became an expert in both conventional Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Improvised Explosive Devices. Since leaving the Army, he has worked within the security industry sector for the last 4 years in a variety of operational areas from Aviation to Close Protection & Surveillance. Michael joined The Inkerman Group in 2008 and is the Director of Operations; he is responsible for the monitoring, design and implementation of all deliverables in conjunction with clients’ requirements, including the 24/7 Group Operations Centre and all live deployments, both within the UK and throughout the world. In 2002 Michael was awarded Member of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for his outstanding commitment and contribution to Explosive Ordnance Disposal in the Military Division.
LORD RICHARD RYDER, OBE, PC, DIRECTOR
Lord Ryder of Wensum was Member of Parliament for Mid Norfolk 1983-1997. He held several Government posts including Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Paymaster General, Economic Secretary to the Treasury and Government Chief Whip. Subsequently he was Deputy Chairman and Acting Chairman of the BBC. He is now Chairman of the Institute of Cancer Research, and College of London University, and a Director of other companies.
COLIN MOOR, FCSI, BA (HONS), DIRECTOR
Colin is Chief Executive of Rometsch & Moor Ltd a private asset management company operating from the Lloyd's building in the City. Colin is a graduate of University College London from where he joined Union Bank of Switzerland in London, in October 1989 working as a director of Private Banking for ten years. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holder of their diploma; he is also a key adviser to SUNARES Sustainable Natural Resources Fund, a Luxemburg-based SICAV fund, which is a leading performer in its sector and part of the HSBC stable of funds. Colin is multilingual, fluent in German and Dutch. Colin brings his extensive skills together to advise The Inkerman Group on its continued financial management and planning and for defining future financial strategy.
JAMES MARMENT, DIRECTOR
James has wide ranging business management and international business development experience in the Defence, Law Enforcement and Security Sectors and has a substantial network Government, Military and Commercial connections. His first career of 23 years as a British Army Royal Artillery Officer included instructing at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and at The Army Staff College while gaining significant counter terrorist experience on operations. He held significant MOD staff appointments and commanded an armoured artillery regiment before leaving for a second career in business in 1997. He was Managing Director of Optimus Management Information Systems (1997-2000) and subsequently VP International business for AIS Inc (2001-2005). He has since become an advisor on Defence and Security to several governments and corporate clients with a special focus on the Middle East.
LORD PETER IMBERT CVO, QPM, DL, STRATEGIC ADVISER
Lord Imbert was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in 1980, retired as Commissioner of Police for London (at New Scotland Yard) in 1993, and since then he has taken up various appointments in the commercial world; he has fulfilled a number of lecturing commitments here and overseas; he writes occasional articles, mainly on criminal justice and policing matters. He was commissioned as a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London in June 1994, appointed Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Greater London in December 1998, and awarded a Life Peerage (Baron Imbert of New Romney in the County of Kent) in the 1999 New Year's Honours List. He is Strategic Adviser to The Inkerman Group.
JODY BAKER, HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Jody is an experienced sales and business development professional with many years’ commercial experience particularly specialising in the Insurance market and has a proven record working with some of the industry’s largest companies. Most recently he worked with the Allianz Group of Companies where he had responsibility over the personal lines business written within the UK and on a global account basis. With over ten years experience in sales, underwriting, and operations in the international insurance and medical health arenas, Jody brings a wealth of knowledge to The Inkerman Group. He is responsible for the company’s business development activities and for developing customer relationships across all sectors, working with existing products and services, as well as devising and implementing new products, protocols and bespoke solutions to industry to ensure The Inkerman Group’s focus on providing what their clients need to stay ahead of their competitors.
NICHOLAS HOWARD, HEAD OF SPECIALIST RISK
Nick served as a UK Police officer for twenty seven years, retiring in the rank of Detective Superintendent, having previously completed five and a half years military service in HM Royal Marine Commandos. He is a UK Police Nationally accredited Kidnap & Extortion (K&E) Senior Investigating Officer (SIO), and has fourteen years K&E experience as a Senior Detective Officer within UK law enforcement. During this time he has performed the overall command role of SIO in some thirty five K&E cases, including International cases.
In addition to the above he is a fully accredited UK Law Enforcement Agency K&E specialist service provision response Controller and operated for the National Crime Squad in support of all UK Police Forces in this capacity. Whilst in the National Crime Squad he was directly involved as the officer in overall command in some twenty Kidnap & Extortion cases (the majority involving the use of firearms), throughout the United Kingdom, together with International cases. He is a nationally accredited Counter Terrorism Senior Investigating Officer and a nationally accredited Covert Human Intelligence Source Authorising Officer at National and International level, and has experience of operating International sources.
