THE INKERMAN GROUP
UEFA Euro 2016 has reached the knock-out stages in France and runs through to 10 July 2016, during which 16 European countries will continue to participate in the European Football Championships, with sporting events being held at ten stadiums in most major urban cities – it has secured its place as the third largest sporting event in the World. The championship will take place amid an elevated security alert status due to terrorist - related incidents and domestic and international developments, including the Paris attacks in November 2015 and more recently the attacks on transportation hubs in neighbouring Belgium on 22 March 2016. As such, the event will be accompanied by heightened security measures nationwide, with particular focus on event locations, the wider stadia complexes, fan arenas / zones, tourist attractions and transportation hubs. This event is seen as elevating the country's existing security concerns relating to issues surrounding terrorism, crime and civil unrest. Visitors and participants are advised to exercise heightened personal and security awareness in order to mitigate the effect of the aforementioned security risks.
